Late at night when the stairs are shinning brightly on to the land.
A group of people are talking outside of a gate with two people standing guard and some in a wagon. One of the men standing guard is about 30 years old while the other was in their 50; both were juniors.
Behind them thousand or so of people were camping or talking among themselves. Its over crowed, but there’s plenty of room between them and the gate.
“Why cant you let us in!” The sect master fiercely yelled out at the two men that were standing guard. The younger one out of the two were shaking in his place while the other had a calm look.
“Be…because the fourth master told us to keep everyone outside the gate pass sunset, and right now it is black as night.” Even though the guard seemed calm he still couldn’t keep his voice under control.
“I don’t ca….”
“Sect Master.” Before the sect master could finish his sentence Qing Yan interrupted him, but hearing Qing Yan the sect master calmed down instead getting angry with him. He then turned over to Chin Ju helplessly and open his mouth to talk.
“Chin Ju, I’m sorry that I cant get you into the Soul Dividing School over night. It looks like you will have to sleep out here for the night and wait tell morning.” The sect master looked really sorry. Until a smile then came to his face as a idea came to him. He then pointed at two men that were in the wagon and told them to come to him.
“Listen closely you are to take Chin Ju, and make him the first person to take the test. Watch over him and keep him safe.” The two men look at Chin Ju and then at the Sect Master.
He then looked to Chin Ju, “These two are in the third level of Earth Realm about to reach their break though to the fourth level. While their watching over you they should keep you safe from harm and get you to be the first to enter the gates.”
Chin Ju wanted to say something, but it seemed that the Sect Master really had his mind set on this. Qing Yan then came off the wagon and handed Chin Ju a white envelope that had a red crust on it. Chin Ju grabbed it and with that the Sect Master and Qing Yan said their good byes leaving two men with Chin Ju. Giving him his clothes in a laundry bag as it was the only thing they had for him to carry his stuff.
After about 10 minutes or so of wondering around, Chin Ju finally found a good spot to get some shut eye. It was in a corner that no one seemed to be in, and there was plenty of grass to soften the ground. The moon was still high in the sky as more and more people also started to go to sleep. Getting to his place Chin Ju over heard lots of things about the test, but not giving much thought Chin Ju laid on the ground for not even a minute pass tell he was asleep.
…..
…..
“Chin Ju!”
Hearing his name Chin Ju slowly opened his eyes to soon meet them with one of the men that were left behind. He looked to the side of him and saw that it was already morning. He then got up to his feet to see that everyone was already in line to go inside the gate.
“Chin Ju, it seems that we also fell asleep, but don’t worry we will get you to the front.”
‘Get me to the front, but how with all these people in front of us?’ Chin Ju was looking ahead there was truly to many people. There had to be about thousand or a little less. He saw no way they could get through.
“Move! Get out of the way!” Chin Ju heard a loud voice telling people to move. He smiled thinking how much of a commotion they were making. The person following them must be the center of hate. Chin Ju even started to giggle to himself for how loud and obnoxious they were. They must stand out like a sore thumb.
“Who do these people think they are!”
“Shhh…They probably belong to a forbidden ground or a huge sect.”
“You think so?”
“Why else would they make such a big scene.”
People already started to talk to each other on what they were. Even going as far of making up their own stories on it. Some were even saying what sect they belonged to.
While others were saying how they were making to much of a scene. Even with that the case no one stepped out and said anything against it instead they got out of their way.
“Chin Ju what are you doing?” The person who woke Chin Ju asked.
Chin Ju then realized that the other guard seemed to be missing. He looked around to see him in front of him yelling at everyone to move. He then looked around him to see that everyone was staring at him.
“What level of cultivation do you think he’s at?”
“High enough were he can act all haughty.”
‘Haughty…cultivation level…’ Hearing some of stuff that people were saying about Chin Ju made his head felt like it was going to exploded. He waited to say something back, but it was already to late. If people were to know that he was only on the first level of Earth Realm they would probable throw up blood.
Seeing how it was to late to come out and fix the situation Chin Ju decided he would act the part. He raised his head and started to walk in a straight line. Following the guard that was yelling.
Slowly they were making their way to the gate. As soon as they got close to someone they would step out of their way. Sweat beads were dropping from Chin Ju until finally there was only a couple of feet away from him and the gate, but he could still feel the eyes of everyone staring him down.
“What are you doing? Step out of the way!”
Just when Chin Ju was thinking that he was in the clear. The body guard that was in front of him started to yell again at someone.
The person that he was yelling had a ignorant look that seemed to be 25 years old. His looks were average nothing that really stood out. He turned his body around fast to see who dare to yell at him to move. To only meet his eyes with the body guard.
“You dare tell me to move!?” The young man was furious.
“That’s right! Get out of are way so we can move ahead.” The body guard didn’t seem that he was going to budge instead he kept insisting.
“Who does he think he is to not move out of their way.” One of the people in the crowed yelled out.
“Yeah…Get out of there way! Don’t you know who they are?” Another person added on.
Other people also began to add in there own words. Some people would even go as far to cuss at the young man while other were threating him. Every single one of them were trying to get on Chin Ju goods side, so them maybe they could befriend him.
“You all dare to tell me to move!” The young man was left speechless. Only to ask them a obvious question as if he was in disbelief of what he was hearing.
“Move aside so that young master Chin Ju can pass by and be the first to take the test!” The second body guard that was walking by Chin Ju also grew irritated that this nobody hasn’t moved yet.
At this point the man standing in the way was starting to turn like a red tomato from anger. Finally Chin Ju worked his way to the front only to meet the man blocking the gates. Chin Ju came to halt about twelve feet away from him. Seeing Chin Ju the man eyes blazed with furry like he found his way to point out all his anger onto.
“Ohhh….So your the one that wants me, to move?” His voice was loud enough that everyone could hear him.
Chin Ju would be alright taking the test whenever, but since its gotten this far he had to follow through with it.
“That’s right! Move! Cant you see that I’m busy?” Chin Ju stepped forward trying to be intimidating as he also made his voice loud enough for people to hear.
“Look he only looks like 16 years old.” Someone shouted.
“No he has to be younger than that. My guess would be 14.”
Seeing Chin Ju out in the open by himself people saw how young he looked. Little did they know that his true age was only 13 years of age.
While people were guessing Chin Ju age the young man face was only turning more red by the second with anger. ‘This kid is the one telling me to move. He’s not even older then my younger brother.’
“How about this if you beat me in a fight then I will let you pass without you even taking the test!” The young man said boldly. Keeping his voice under control in a calm manner.
“Who gave you the rights to do that?” One of the body guards said.
“Since when have you had the ability to let people pass or not?” The other guard added.
“Hahah…Ignorant fools.” The young man started to burst out in laughter.
The two guards just stared at each other in confusion looking as to why the young man was laughing. Everyone one else had a worried expression as they began to put the puzzle pieces together.
Chin Ju on the other hand kept his calm manner. Standing there unfazed even though he just learned who the young man true identity is.
“That’s right my name is Lan Xai, and I was asked by the fourth master to be the observer over this trial. But to my surprise I was only met with hostility and…”
“Did you not hear me earlier; I told you I’m busy so are you going to let me pass or not?” Before Lan Xai could finish his sentence Chin Ju cut him off. A vain or two popped out of Lan Xai head as he was ready to rip apart Chin Ju.
“As I told you earlier if you beat me in a fight then I will let you pass without you taking the test.” The man fist were tightening waiting for Chin Ju to say yes, but he was still keeping his voice under control. Having it still loud enough for people to hear
“And why should I do that?” Chin Ju shrugged his shoulders at Lan Xai.
“Because, then you wont have to take the test. You said it yourself that your a busy person.” Lan Xai started to have a smirk across his face.
‘This idiot is falling for my trap perfectly, as soon as he says yes I will cripple him.’ The young man wanted to burst out laughing when he thought of this.
“But, how am I suppose to know if are fight wont last as long as the test?” Chin Ju said this almost as if he’s bored of talking to this man.
“Fine, fine… We can have the fight last for five minutes and if your able to hit me then you win.” He lost his temper and started to say rules that would make it unfair on his side, but at this point he didn’t care! He just wanted to cripple Chin Ju.
Chin Ju said nothing and thought about it for a couple of minutes. He then opened his mouth and began to talk.
“Ok, I guess that can work.” He said this in a lazy voice as if Lan Xai was pulling his leg to do this.
