“POP”
Like a firecracker, it snaps the top half of the pencil knife, making it fly toward the tall kid hitting him in his shoulder.
Hiroto’s luck has always been phenomenal enough that you would think that some of it had to be planned out; however, for the knife to just hit the tall kid and not him was a huge gamble. Think about it 43 kids are left, and if Hiroto suffers, even the slights injury could mean he dies.
He crosses his legs into a scissors position, chopping the tall kid’s bad leg. The rotten portion was on its last stand as it didn’t take much force to trample him.
“slice”
The short stubby kid leading his sword under the tall kid’s armpit cuts through the tall kid’s right arm, stopping at the bone; as a result, making blood gush out. He came tumbling down with the tall kid. The sudden force attached to the sword was too much of a surprise for him just to let go of the sword. Still holding it with his entire force, he couldn’t help being overwhelmed by gravity’s only chance to follow along.
“Blop!” Another kid hits the floor with an arrow attached to his back forehead, belonging to the three kids cutting off Hiroto’s escape.
Still unfazed by all that transpired, the two other kids grabbed their shields and pancaked Hiroto—trapping him under four bodies. Then, the two kids grabbed their swords and ruthlessly began to stab through the short stubby kid and the tall kid trapped with Hiroto.
He is entirely trapped under four bodies, two fully dead from blood loss or stabbing. He felt their warm blood run on top of his skin.
He squeezed his arm out of the entrapment that he was under. Taking the remains of his pencil knife, stabbing it into the ear of one of the kids with a shield. The death was instant and painless; Hiroto grabbed his shirt and rolled him off the body pile with the pencil knife still attached.
Hiroto reached down onto the tied cloth around his waist that created a holder for his combat knife. Luckily the other kid pinning down Hiroto stabbed through the short stubby kid. He was often stuck in the rib cage, making his sword stuck for brief seconds.
“Blop” In the forest of trees, a kid fell to the floor with an arrow being a new attachment to his body.
The body caught Hiroto’s attention; however, not just his but everyone, including those in the forest. In a quick action, the tigers’ din seemed surreal. Fifteen kids came out from the trees, holding various weapons, yet they still resemble the kids Hiroto just fought.
They all hold an injury that is somewhat a considerable handicap, some missing an arm, eye, or severe wound that became infected.
For example, the seven kids holding the advantage point; while it was not known right away, they were all injured or crimpled in some shape or form. Yet this has already put Hiroto in a near-death scenario, which he’s still trapped under.
Hiroto quickly realized that he would be surrounded in a manner of minute, leaving him about 60 seconds or less to get up and ready himself. Lucky or planned out, the last person pinning down Hiroto was the person who got the knife thrown into his hamstring.
Hiroto took his combat knife and dug it in the same spot the last knife went. At first, there was no response; however, humans’ nature is to have some sort of reaction no matter how hard you train for it. So the kid subconsciously twitched up; this allowed for a brief amount enabling him to squeeze out from the entrapment of the two bodies he was under.
Realizing that Hiroto came out from the entrapment, the kid raised his sword over Hiroto, ready for the final strike; however, Hiroto was a step faster, raising his left hand with a puncture needle sending it in the direction of the kid’s ear.
Right before the kid passed out, Hiroto took his knee, kicking the butt of the kid that was on top of him, sending the kid over Hiroto along with the sword. The sword was right above Hiroto; if he didn’t do this in time, it would directly fall on top of him, leaving who knows how bad of an injury.
“Blop” Another sound of a body hitting the ground goes off around Hiroto. Adding to the decoration to the forest beside the green trees and newly colored grass.
Getting out of the dog pile Hiroto didn’t get the luxury to trail his mind off to think if Sho was alright, much less catch his breath. His breathing was heavy, sweat was pouring down his face, gritting his teeth Hiroto reached down grabbing a sword of one of previous owner from the pile of bodies.
His vision was slightly dark, but he quickly regained focus and getting into his stance, while the new wave of fifteen people rushed him.
……..
“Why do all the kids gang up on those two kids instead of fighting each other?” One of the people behind the glass couldn’t hold back the question any longer, like a lingering taste of wine thrusting for more.
“Because just those two kids alone could beat everyone in the field.” Shiro Ishii’s wicked smile grew, watching two people fight against 46. He was enjoying the pleasant surprise with the fight being like this.
“The kid with the bow, is Sho from Blue class strip 10, number 1. Sho successes in the the health regeneration procedure. Allowing accelerated tissue growth, and incorporating acceleration within his muscles making it possible to shot a target 35-yards away. He has the capability to shot a bow to its maximum potential, knowing when it’s about to break.”
”The kid who was in the dog-pile, is Hiroto from Blue class strip 10, number 0. Hiroto is our special patient, the only one through this project to receive the number 0.
“Everyone look, one of the two kids just got captured.” A man in the crowd screamed like a little kid that just got his favorite toy taken away.
“What are they doing? Why are they doing that? Shouldn’t they be killing him? Why are they just capturing him? Kill the kid, why don’t you?” Everyone’s eyes fully stared at Sho, that was lying on the ground getting tied up with rope. A fat older man couldn’t help but express his displeasure watching them tie Sho.
“Haha, it’s not that they’re scared to kill him; it’s quite the opposite. It’s just the most logical move to do there. If they killed that boy, then patient 0 would go berserk and end this all faster. By keeping patient one like that and going after patient 0, they can fight their all. They don’t have to worry about getting shot by an arrow while attacking. Have you heard the saying there’s nothing scarier than watching your back while fighting?” Shiro Ishii’s explained the events as they were happening. Every couple of minutes, someone would pop up a question.
“Wait, what do you mean by the end it faster?” One of the women asked with a confused look on her.
“In their last fight with class: Red one of the people in the very beginning killed someone significant to patient 0, and he killed everyone in only a couple of minutes.” Shiro Ishii broke out in a half-laugh to himself when he thought back on it. He honestly thought it was a spectacular show back then.
“How many people did he kill?” The woman asked with everyone staring at the Shiro Ishii.
He slowly puts his hand on his chin. “Well, it was in the very beginning, and the class had about 80 people or so. So I would say about 90 people.” Remembering the number, his hand shot into the air over the sudden thought.
“Wait, you said that he killed 90, but there were only 80 people in that class.” Everyone was confused about this part.
“Yup, he killed 11 of my people that day.” He shakes his head in disappointment. Everyone’s mouths open wide with amazement.
“Look! He just killed the four people that were just on him.” One of the people watching was in amazement, watching him kill the four people so quickly.
“Wait, I have a question why do they put themselves on a self-sacrifice mission? Take, for example, the seven people holding that spot in the open, they were injured rather than hiding which would be the smartest decision, but instead, they wait in the open only to be sacrificial lambs while the rest attacked.” A woman holding her wine was watching down, not even giving a glance away from her entertainment.
“Ahhh, that’s a great question! Will to answer your question, the kids are trained to see each treatment as a mission. To say this far, their current mission is to kill patients 1 and 0. Then comes the mission to survive because, as a whole, they realize that they can only beat patients 1 and 0 by working together. The kids come to the understanding that they are not going to make it rather if they hide or attack, so they make the most rational decision, which is to sacrifice themselves for the whole. I hope this answers your question?”
“Yes, thank you!” Still not giving away from the glass, the young girl, perhaps just barely older than Hiroto, was pleased that such a result could transpire from such a large group.
“Now, there are only 16 people left.” Shiro Ishii couldn’t help but be amazed that two people could accomplish so much, as he would see their number crumble by Hiroto’s and Sho’s hands.
……….
Sho sitting down on a tree, pulling another arrow, “Uhhh.”
Sho couldn’t help but sigh as his surroundings left him with little to no hope.
“Welp, Hiroto, unlike you, I don’t believe that I can get out of this. I hope that my last arrow might help take out the closest person to you. It would seem that they already had out a firm plan while we were needlessly attacking around. ” Surrounding Sho, 17 people ready to attack, seven of them having similar looks as Hiroto, hardly any scars, and their clothes were moderately put together. The other ten were relatively normal looking, for their other surrounding peers.
They ultimately had Sho surrounded, some in the trees while the majority was on the ground, slowly walking in sync as they closed the gap on Sho.
“Sending the weakest people after Hiroto while keeping him busy, right? While you look for me. To be frank, I didn’t think you guys had that much rationality left. However, I guess that’s to be expected for the rest of our class. The strongest seven, Michio, Ken, Shijo, Kiyoshi, Sen, Ai Sasaki, and Toyo Hirano all right here after me! To think I will have to go against all of you by myself. I can already feel the chills from just looking into your eyes; oh my, this is a scary sight, no?” The seven people said nothing. Instead, they seemed as if they didn’t hear anything.
“I guess I should have known you wouldn’t say anything back, hahaha, will either…” Sho grounded his feet into the steady large tree branch, having a firm ground. He pulled back his string with the arrow attached with all he could muster. Finally, the stiff bow let out its cries that it couldn’t go any further and that it was already at its breaking point.
Without further delay leaving, the wooden bow with no gap between bending. Stopping mid-sentence sent the arrow straight at Ken directly at his head in hopes of catching him by surprise. However, what was this place? Do you think that such a pity surprise could do much?
Ken holding a metal spear, slightly raises the metal shaft, reflecting the arrow. His spear moved inward toward his body from the sheer force of the arrow. Ken twisted his wrist and shifted the force to the ground stabbing the grass.
“Will I guess you’re not called the iron wall for no reason Ken? Remember when that name was given to you?” Sho quickly grabbed another arrow yet held off on firing. Rather, he wanted to see if a response would be given.
